Visible Mending

Stitched pieces focused on repair, reuse, and celebrating imperfections. Using methods like sashiko, still-point stitching, and slow stitch, this practice encourages sustainable, mindful making and material care.

Metamorphosis: Fabric Design

Experimental textile work inspired by a daily drawing documentation of the life cycle of a butterfly. The drawings were developed into a fabric design and then a dress design, which I had made and wore to a Día de los Muertos celebration at the Mexican Embassy in London. The work explores transformation, memory, and the symbolism of the monarch butterfly.

Neoprene

Ongoing experiments in repurposing discarded wetsuits into sculptural and wearable objects. This work explores environmental storytelling, sustainability, and the politics of clean water through the lens of materials.

Textile & Cultural Heritage

A personal textile practice exploring cultural heritage, identity, and symbolism through stitching and beading. This work draws inspiration from traditional garments and practices such as huipiles and Indigenous beading. Projects reflect my own mixed cultural background as Yaqui Yoeme (Mexican & Native American), using stitch and beading as a way to explore belonging, ancestry, and storytelling through textiles.
